Pre-production Layout & Artwork Proportions
Before we start creating the actual artwork, every customer is presented with a detailed layout derived from their submitted photographs. This layout acts as a blueprint for the commissioned artwork, ensuring it is produced to scale. This means that the final artwork will closely match the proportions and details of the approved layout, ensuring accuracy and customer satisfaction.
For abstract and free-style artwork requests, customers should specify their preferred style. If not indicated, artworks will be crafted in line with the styles showcased in our gallery.
Additional Costs
Customizations such as backgrounds, themes, props, or any alterations may incur additional charges. Please contact us for a custom quote.
Delivery Commitment
While we strive to meet specified delivery dates, custom nature of our artworks might cause unexpected delays. Whataportrait.com isn't liable for delivery delays, especially those resulting from revision requests.
Orders with Deadlines
For all orders with specified deadlines, we mandate a 100% upfront payment. This advance payment enables us to allocate sufficient resources and prioritize your order, ensuring timely delivery to meet your needs.
Payment Terms
We require a 20% partial payment to begin working on your artwork. Please note that this 20% partial payment is non-refundable. The remaining 80% balance will be due after you approve the preview and before we proceed with shipping. Additionally, if the main picture submitted is blurry or of low quality, we will require 100% upfront payment to commence the artwork. This policy ensures that we can dedicate the necessary resources to deliver a high-quality final product that meets your expectations.
Payments and Pricing
Artworks will only be shipped once all due payments are cleared. Delays in shipping due to outstanding payments are not Whataportrait.com's responsibility. Pricing may vary based on the complexity and difficulty of the provided photograph. However, any increase in price will only be marginal, ensuring affordability.
Delivery and Revisions
We earnestly strive to deliver each piece within the specified time-frame stated on the website. For priority delivery, we request each customer to notify us while placing their order about the date that they would like to receive their artwork by. Although we cannot guarantee delivery by the requested date, we make every effort to deliver artworks in time. Understandably, revision requests, if any, take time, and Whataportrait.com will not be liable for delays incurred due to these requests. By placing an order with Whataportrait.com, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the terms and conditions before ordering.
Shipping Policy

- We proudly offer free shipping to select countries, ensuring that our artwork reaches a broad audience.
- For many of our pieces, we utilize trusted carriers like DHL and FedEx to ship artworks rolled in tubes, ensuring their safety during transit.
- Our commitment to free shipping extends primarily to areas designated as non-remote regions.
- For areas labeled as 'Remote' by DHL, which can be found in detail here (https://www.dhl.de/content/dam/images/Express/downloads/dhl-express-remote-areas-service.pdf), a modest differential shipping fee will apply.
- If we find a more cost-effective shipping option through carriers such as DPEX or Aramex, we will promptly notify you to ensure a beneficial arrangement for both parties.
- By choosing WhataPortrait.com, you can rest assured that we'll make every effort to deliver your artwork efficiently and affordably.
- In order to comply with the latest guidelines and shipping regulations, we are able to ship artworks only to the shipping address entered while transacting.
Complex Orders
Complex orders, especially those involving paintings that feature more than one subject or are larger than 24"x20", may not adhere to the standard 2-week delivery timeline. Each piece is 100% handmade and bespoke, necessitating unique time and attention for commissioning. Therefore, the delivery timelines for larger or multi-subject paintings aren't guaranteed.
Photo Upload and Copyright
As a user, you bear sole responsibility for the photos you upload and send to us. Ensure you hold the proper authority and copyright for each uploaded photograph. While we offer our services at a mentioned price for a certain degree of difficulty, more intricate photos may incur additional costs due to the extended hours needed for completion. However, rest assured that these additional charges will remain minimal, ensuring you need not spend excessively. Once your portrait is ready and you settle any outstanding balance, we will promptly process it for shipping to your doorstep. Be aware that our prices are subject to change without prior notice.
Artwork Damage Policy
Each artwork is carefully packaged before shipping to avoid any damage during transit. Despite high-quality standards, a fraction of artworks does get damaged. For artworks delivered in damaged condition, ship them back to us within 3 business days, and we will correct the problem. If the artwork is beyond repair, prompt replacements are offered. In cases of receipt of frames in damaged condition, report the matter to us by email in 3 business days along with pictures of breakage and the outer packaging. We offer prompt replacements after satisfactory receipt of relevant pictures. Issues regarding deliveries in damaged condition or issues with the artwork quality will be resolved only if reported to us within 7 business days of receipt of the product.
Undelivered and Unsigned Packages
Whataportrait.com isn't liable for packages discarded by couriers due to recipient unavailability or for packages delivered without signatures. You are requested to accept packages in person and sign against deliveries. Whataportrait.com will not be responsible under any circumstances, for missing packages requested to be delivered unsigned. At times, when customers are not available at delivery, packages are returned back to our facility after repeated delivery attempts. A return cost and re-shipping cost will be applicable to the customer/recipient under such circumstances.
Cancellation Policy
- You as the customer have the right to cancel an order at any point in time before shipment.
- Should you feel unsatisfied at any stage, contact us at help@whataportrait.com. We are committed to resolving any issues you might face.
- Cancellation requests made within 24 hours of order confirmation are eligible for a full refund, provided the artist has not commenced working on the artwork.
- Cancellations made due to quality issues, and before artworks are shipped, will incur a 20% cancellation fee. This fee is to compensate for the artist's time and effort.
- We cannot process cancellation requests for artworks approved for shipping or already delivered to the customer.
- Refunds are not applicable for artworks commissioned from blurred pictures, digital caricatures, or already printed canvas prints of caricatures.
- We welcome feedback and modification requests and will do our best to undertake necessary revisions.
- WhataPortrait.com reserves the right to the final decision for all cancellation requests, striving to ensure the satisfaction of every customer.

Refund Policy
Refunds are processed within 10 business days from the date of confirmation of the refund, through the same mode used for payment.
Consent to Display Artwork
By placing an online order, you grant us the permission to showcase the commissioned artwork and its reference photographs in our website gallery. Should you wish not to have your artwork displayed after shipment, please reach out to us, and we'll gladly remove it from our gallery. Whataportrait.com is not liable for any misuse of the showcased photographs and artworks by website visitors. We prioritize our customers' privacy; thus, for those who specify prior to ordering, we refrain from posting their artworks or reference photos.
Cultural Sensitivity
We reserve the right to decline orders that potentially harm the sentiments of any particular culture/nationality/religions.
