Gone are those centuries where we could find a painter with a great tolerance to paint ourselves or our loved ones down on canvas as we sit patiently for days, rebuilding the same frame every day for that one portrait to be if not more than perfect. All we have to do today to capture is just a click away on our phones and cameras. The world is moving fast and so are our memory keeping traditions. They’ve become more instant, easy and convenient. But aligned with these fast moving methods we are also losing on the beauty and the value we initially associated with any piece of memory. Those hours spent in creating that one painting done or getting ourselves sketched by the artist was in itself an add-on memory for all of us. The beauty of the finished artwork, the hard work put in by the artist to create that piece, the patience to sit and appreciate the hard work and beauty is long lost in our modern fast-paced world. But think about it! Don’t you miss those frames on top of the mantle, or the arranged family portraits and sketches on the shelf? The realization of how much time an artist spent to understand every single wrinkle and freckle of your face and bring it out to life on a plain white canvas. It is still beautiful to stare at those masterpieces full of emotions and memories and it is definitely not impossible to get those painted portraits of your loved ones back on the mantelpiece.

So now the struggle is how to commission an artist who would just look at your photos and turn them into beautiful art pieces? Don’t worry, because where there’s a will there’s always a way. The trust of our customers has helped us serve them to the most and fullest. And it brings us great joy when our wonderful customers let us know about how much of a change our services have brought to their lives.

One of these customers includes Ms. Mary Lefton who asked us to commission a beautiful family portrait of her along with her siblings.

THE INTENT BEHIND GETTING A FAMILY PORTRAIT DONE

She wanted us to do a portrait of her along with her 5 cousins on canvas. But this was not all. The family photo provided did not include all the members and required personal modification of adding two additional members to the already existing photo along with certain background and foreground changes. With customer satisfaction being our priority, we asked Mary to send separate pictures of the remaining members for us to build up a layout for the artwork. The pictures were gathered by her and received by us post holidays.

THESE ARE SEPARATE PICTURES THAT WE RECEIVED FOR THE FAMILY PAINTING

Up next followed multiple dialogues between both the parties regarding the artwork specifications. After reviewing multiple pictures provided by Mary, our art experts recommended at least size 24" X 18" oil painting based upon the layout of the image attached to adequately capture the intricate details onto the artwork.

The options provided for standard delivery incorporated the painting being delivered rolled up in a tube. Framing services were offered as well just in case she wished to receive it ready to display or gift (We offer free shipping on both framed and unframed artworks).

Further steps involved small and detailed changes such as change of attire from a formal suit to a rather casual shirt, the balancing of skin tones for better aesthetic values and a couple more photograph exchanges.

After multiple iterations and continuous dialogues with Mary, we fixed the perfect layout completely meetingher requirements. Once approved, we started working on the actual painting based exactly upon the layout, with the promise of completion in the upcoming 2-3 weeks.

We completed the painting in approximately 3 weeks.

It was great to know about Mary’s excitement for the final reveal of the artwork and further wonderful to know that our product and service were loved by Mary and family. The artwork was then soon shipped to Mary to adorn the beautiful walls of her lovely home. Mary’s generosity and patience as a customer with us was something that truly helped us and inspired us to continue doing what we do best – create memories and make people happy. Her genuine and honest review stating, “Absolutely love my painting. After my brother passed away l was disappointed we never had a picture done with all of us. With the help of What A Portrait, l now have the perfect picture of me and my siblings. I love it.” about the painting made us proud and will make us remember Mary as our happy and satisfied customer. It was indeed a pleasure to know that we were recommended further to her friends and colleagues.
